Why is this list being created
| I hope you don't mind this
invasion of your privacy, but I would like to introduce myself and ask if
you would like to participate in the creation of a parent email list. My
name is Paula Siminski and my daughter Kristy is a freshman on the team
this year. Since we all live so far apart I thought it would be nice to form
a sort of online parent's group via email and this Web page. I am doing this because when my oldest daughter swam in college, one of the things she remembers most is the parent participation at dual meets and championship meets. Being present for all of the meets was easy because it was in-state and only a three hour drive. Making banners and organizing parent support efforts was also easy because we kept in touch by email and phone. Most of the parents made the majority of the meets and our presence was made known as we sat in the stands and cheered on each and every swimmer. Needless to say it was great fun for swimmers and parents. Lot's of really good memories! Since most of us with Swimmers at UT live out of state it is difficult to organize that type of spirit effort. It is difficult, but not impossible! So, if you add your name to the list maybe we can get something going before Conference in February. Mrs. Wanezek (Sarah's mom) made this suggestion, "I would like to organize a hospitality suite at the girls hotel (if they're staying at one) for Conference - or somewhere. Everyone could meet there before finals to socialize and possible cheer the girls on before they leave for finals. We did this for Wisconsin and the parents really had fun and got to know one another." I think it is a wonderful idea and would like to help her try to get it organized. We need your help!!
